Substance Abuse

A primary purpose of the Substance Abuse component of SDUIH is to help in prevention and intervention of the abuse and use of alcohol and drugs. The intervention aspect is more utilized throughout the communities in which the substance counselors will be working. Intervention clarified by the evaluation process as well as the aftercare aspect of substance addiction. The substance abuse counselor will help the client with aftercare recover and returning from an inpatient or outpatient facility.
