What SDUIH means to me, or to my community or to the patients:
I enjoy working at SDUIH. I am honored to assist many individuals with health promotion,disease/complication prevention and management. Employment with SDUIH allows me to “wear many different hats” and directly impact the health status of individuals, families and the community at the same time. I especially enjoy that our clients are treated as individuals at SDUIH not a number or a diagnosis.

Education/Employment Background: BS from SDSU; MS from UMN - I gained in-patient clinical experience working at Avera St. Lukes, Aberdeen. While working on my Master's Degree, I worked as a consulting Dietitian for area nursing homes and group homes. I served as Dietary Department head in charge of clinical care and food service for a nursing home.
What SDUIH means to me, or to my community or to the patients:
Our Clinic is staffed by competent and caring health providers and support staff. We look for opportunities to care for clients beyond the basic health care appointment (i.e., offering diabetes education, diabetes prevention (exercise) program, family planning and AWC programs) in a small comfortable clinic setting.

What SDUIH means to me, or to my community or to the patients:
SDUIH is a clinic where Native Americans in Urban areas can receive quality health care for the entire family. We are also here to serve the economically disadvantaged residents in the area as well. I enjoy working with our patientes here at SDUIH. It reminds me of my home reservation where I grew up and worked for 35 years.
